The great Gatsby Many years have past and the great gatsby is still a great novel, but have you ever wondered ho w Fitzgerald’s characterization create a tone around the theme of happiness? Almost every character in this story seemed to be happy. Even though life around them was difficult to understand, they somehow didn't really seem so miserable. When reading the book, I was telling myself "damn these people have real issues" but they seemed totally fine about it. They kind of just ignored everyone and they went on with their life. I guess the easiest thing for them was to just ignore everything and everyone. Even though Gatsby was wealthy and had everything, he didn't seem happy. That part was trippy because isn't money supposed to make you happy?? Everyone says that money doesn't buy happiness but if you don't have money, you basically can't really get anywhere now a days.
